That sounds like a really neat trip! Enjoy and post lots of pics when you get back! I loved the trip we took to Texas a few years ago. It is a beautiful state.

It's just sooooo diverse ..

We live in the Piney Woods .. but you have rolling hills in east texas, cactus and 'mountains' in the hill country, desert out west, the gulf coast water ... We "get away" many times and never leave the state...

We were there for just a couple of days and I would love to go back for a longer stay. We stopped in Dallas, Waco, Austin, College Station and San Antonio. Didn't stay anywhere too long, but enjoyed what we did see.

Texas that trip sounds like a blast. My parents had a Harley and loved to take their vacations that way too.

PK those marshmallows do sound wonderful, especially the chocolate ones Michelle mentioned. My MIL bought the strawberry ones, I didn't like those, but the kids did

Michelle and Des, I will keep you posted. I called coach last night but he didn't answer. I bet he calls today though. How is Freddie doing?

NY I ate like I was eating for 6 too! Whitman's chocolates and instant mashed potatoes and gravy!!

Kenny is home today. Not sure what the plan is, maybe take a load to the dump, goody

Ah, poor Freddie! He came by the station yesterday afternoon wanting to "hang out" with us for a while. Apparently his Mom is driving him crazy not letting him do anything right now. I kinda see her point, but he is one that is always busy and not one to sit around while his mother hovers over him. His eyes are still a little discolored and the nose is still a bit swollen, but he has surgery tomorrow afternoon. It is supposed to be outpatient, so he will hopefully be home tomorrow night. He will have splints on the inside and outside of his nose for a couple of weeks. He wants to leave his Mom home tomorrow and take me instead.

I told him that probably wouldn't go over well, but any time he needed to get away from her to just tell her he needs his truck looked at or text me and I will call him to come up to the house for something and he can come up to our house. She trusts he will be okay when he is with us. I understand where she comes from though, he is her baby. The others are grown and gone and she almost lost her husband a few months ago, but he is a big boy who needs to spread his wings. What a delicate balance we have to find as parents!
