I will definitely take on mama and her kittens before I would take on teenagers again! I asked hubby if we could build in a small nursery in my walk-in closet, but he shot me down. Destiny and I decided we would fix something up for them anyway. It is silly for me to worry about them so much, but she is particular about her litter and I respect her for it. This morning she had one out (apparently already prepping to move) and I held out my hand and she dropped it down so I could see it and when I went to give it back, she walked away! I was already late for work so I had to chase her down. Now, if it had been anyone else, she won't let them near her babies for a few more weeks anyway. I guess she knows I am a mama too and will take good care of them!

And please, save the bowing until I am done and haven't killed my husband in the process!

OH yes-what a joy-I have 7 now-they all went swimming on our pond now they are all singing to their Ipods-loud! Im cooking pizzas right now and Im on my 2 Killians REd!!! margos are next! maybe 1-after that Id be zooted and not a good role model after that- hahaha

OMG! We had a storm blow through Sunday AM. The wind was blowing so hard it looked like one of those anchor people standing in the middle of a hurricane! I have never seen the wind blow that hard before!! I was standing on our back porch watching the wind when I heard a big CRACK! The big elm tree between my chicken house and brooder house cracked into and half of it fell to the ground! Luckily, only some branches fell on the chicken house and didn't hurt it any but WOW! This tree is huge, I couldn't even venture a guess as to how old it is. My DH says that is what happens to old elm trees. They start rotting inside and you don't know they are rotten til something like this happens. I was so glad I hadn't let my chickens out yet. I'm tellin' ya, they would have been blown into the next county if they'd been outside! Here's a pic. That's my chicken house in the background. ( My camera date is wrong)

I was watching KC news yesterday and wondered about you and if you got caught up in all that mess. We just got the very back edge, little rain, mild thunder and lightning. I saw around Butler got hit pretty hard, we have to travel there for football this fall, kinda hoping it would take out the field so they would have to come up here again. lol Seriously, I wouldn't wish that damage on anyone. Gallatin (about 20 mins from here) area got hit really hard this spring and everyone is putting on new roofs!

Oh my gosh! I didn't even notice that! I kept thinking we would hear from her yesterday, but I started to get worried!

I am tired today. Just looking out my big window watching it rain has really slowed me down! Helped son and hubby roof last night and that about killed me! I am not used to so much manual labor at once and almost always try to skip out on roofing!

We acquired a new kitten yesterday. Haven't told hubby yet!

Our secretary rescued it after finding it wandering around. I am a sucker and Destiny and I took it right on home! She looks to be about 8-10 weeks old, very cuddly but... will not get along with our other cats, so not sure how long she will last at our house! We snuck her in yesterday to Des' room, came home late last night and just failed to mention she is in there!
