Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

My best friend growing up ended up being a babysitter for parents. Her Dad had remarried and had a "second" family. She couldn't ever go any where, her parents were either at work or the bar. So I spent every weekend at her house, helping her with those kids. We were 13 when it started. So I know what you mean and would not want to do that to Raymond. I can't believe he will be leaving and going to college in a few short years either!

Thunder and Mocha are a lot alike aren't they!! Mocha doesn't eat toys, yet, but she takes bones(raw hides, deer, coyote, what ever she can find) and hides them all over the farm! The other day she showed up at the door with a particular bone I gave her the first day she came to live with us! Our little yappy dog Ginger has always thought she was the boss. She even pushes Bruce around and he is 10 times her size! Well Mocha told her yesterday that under no circumstances was she to TOUCH her bones, EVER!! There was some teeth, growling and a tussle!

I would love to have tons of outdoor lights but nobody sees them except us and maybe the UPS guy! Last year Kenny did more, but this year he put the time and effort into my Dads decorations so I am happy!

Bruce is getting the Furminator brush for Christmas. I forgot how much he shed while he was running with the oilfield guys! Now that he is a couch dog there is handfuls of hair all over! I vacuum every day( really, every single day) and I can't keep up. I read the reviews on this brush and they were pretty good so I am going to give it a try. That will be Raymonds job, so we shall see..............................................

ANOTHER email from Raymonds school. Apparently I am not the only one frustrated with my sweet boy!!

Mrs. Gjullin,

Ray still did not do Culinary Arts worksheets Chapter 16 fruits and vegetables. I remember him getting another copy from Mrs. Schlepp because it was listed as a zero on Edline. He had it in his mind since it said Study Guide on the top of the page that he didn't need to do it.

I not so patiently explained:
1. The zero said Chapter 16 and the papers said Ch. 16. He needed to do them and hand them in.

1. Mrs. Schlepp does not print 3 pages front and back with blanks on it just to use up paper and ink. He needed to do it.

2. Yesterday's test was Fruits and Vegetables and the study guide was Fruits and Vegetables. He needed to do it.

It is late, but he needs to do Culinary Arts Ch 16 tonight if we don't get it done today. He should use his book and hand outs.

Culinary Arts Cereal Lab: Given Monday, due today. Ray did not work on it. It is now finished.

English:
I have asked him to ask his English teacher if he can turn in the missing Culture paper. He keeps forgetting. I wrote on his EdLine in black marker, ASK so hopefuly he will today.
Might be something he needs to do tonight.

He has math to do tonight. It is what he wanted to work on in study hall, but I made him do Culinary Arts instead.

Mrs. *******

I have been checking his honework and his grades are getting slightly better, but I guess I am still missing things.

My best friend was the same way. Her mom remarried someone 10 years younger and they had Blake when she was 16. Her mom also worked at a bar and she and I and her younger sister (2 years) raised that little boy. We enjoyed him, but we missed out on a lot also. I stayed with her quite a bit because I wanted to help out. And I must say, I think we did a mighty fine job raising that boy too!

I have not heard of the furminator I don't think. We hadn't had a house dog for long time before Thunder and as a short haired beagle, I am amazed how much he sheds! I am like you, but sweep every day. And his blankets have to be washed at least weekly and are full of hair! I just use a slicker brush on him, but it seems like the more you comb, the more there is! Speaking of animals, I drove up to the house yesterday with Miss Bella greeting me at my van. Apparently she found a way out of the pen and was wandering the front yard.

As far as Raymond and school, he is just not doing it? Sounds like it is time to have another nice long talk with him and some bonding time while you watch over his shoulder to make sure it gets done. Also check to make sure there isn't something else going on with him to cause this.

Afternoon poultry friends! Drizzling and cold here, but at least no wind or blowing snow like it could be.

I know just where you are coming from on the sibling ages, I have 8 and 10 years between myself and my brothers. Then I have sons 19,12, and 6. (wonderful little surprise there at the end)

Thank you for the advice on the whole corn for the call ducks. I did go ahead and give them a bit yesterday and it is gone today- and not littered on the ground, so they must have ate it. LOL I am still having that original call duck off and on, with the tail pointing down? Oddest thing. I think she gets constipated, but that is just an educated guess. I have been giving them leftover shredded up lettuce, when I have scraps.

You are so right Michelle!

I hardly ever want the same type of gifts other gals want.

Things like dog brushes and animal cages make me so happy.

Just a plain old country gal, that is the way I love it. Once I told DH, that Tractor Supply is like the mall for me. Haaa

Hi there NY, sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather.

And hate to hear of school troubles Chickenchick.

Does Miss Bella have a secret tunnel? Maybe wings? How about relocating powers?

Michelle you are right it is time for another talk, but he always says the same thing. He says he IS doing the work. When I confront him with the evidence in black/white he says, well I don't know what she is talking about. I did it.

I wonder if there is something going on too. But I don't know what. The teacher that sent me the email is his "advisor" I guess you would say. He is under the Special Education Program because of his injury. A TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) automatically qualifies him. At first I was against it, but Others convinced me it would give him more of an advantage. It does mean the school is responsible for a little more, including the physical, as well. For instance they let him out of class a few minutes early so it is safer for him to use the stairs, and he has more time to get to the bus. He also has a study hall monitored by the Special Ed teacher(the gal who emailed) so she can help him stay organized. I am grateful to have the "inside" source at school. Otherwise I would have no idea what was going on! I still can't get him in to the DR until Jan. .............................................Deep breath!! OK I am done now. SORRY!! Thank you so much for supporting me!

Jazzy it is great to "see" you! We have a little snow here. Got down to 2 degrees last night. I am on my third pot of coffee

my country life too! My hubby always says how easy I am to keep happy! I like a simple quiet existence. I am SO glad to have the gals on this thread though, YOU keep me from losing my mind!!

I forgot to tell you about my "gourmet" dinner I have planned!! OK that was sarcasm..... tonight's entree....Tuna Noodle Casserole! I am just so out of ideas lately. The funny part is both Raymond and Kenny will be excited to see it! They both love it. Also I baked a loaf of oatmeal bread to serve with it. Yesterday I baked Oatmeal raisin cookies, so those will have to do for dessert.

Chickenchick...just sit Raymond down and talk to him. Tell him again what is expected of him. Consistancy is the key. And also...my sister is 13 years older than I and my brother is 12 years. There are lots of families like this. You are a stay at home mom who will be raising this baby. You're not going to leave little Leroy or little Lucy home with Raymond. That is a non issue. Have you talked to Kenny yet?

I am excited and nosey!
