Good Morning!

I was late for work today. The night before I went to bed early and it kicked me in the butt yesterday morning. Decided to stay up later last night. Well, while I was fixing that delicious potato soup recipe charmed gave me, my cousin Kelli called me to see if I wanted to go to her son's game at 8:50 last night in our home town. (35 minutes away) She lives in Lenexa, a couple hours away and it was only 6, so I thought, sure! I have time to finish the soup and meet her in town. Oh no, she was 30 minutes away when she called. So, I hurried up and finished it (it was delicious!!) and Destiny and I ran off to the game! They won, so we are going to go back for the game on Friday. I missed American Idol.

Good morning, good morrrrrrrning. 53 degrees F, 9:19am in my neck of the woods and my girl is faithfully in her nest about to lay me another egg. I tell you charmed I don't know how exactly she got into this 9:30am cycle but I sure am happy that she is able to lay everyday at that same time. If I was a breeder I would sure take her eggs and make more of her.

She does the cutest thing, from time to time I go outside and take a shovel and dig into the dirt to help them find critters and she sees me with the shovel and she starts following me. I dig into the dirt and she hops on the dirt and starts attempting to help me it is the cutest thing. I hope I don't take one of her toes with me one of these days as I dig.

She is also the loudest and most annoying if she does not get her way. She is so spoiled that I have to let her vent all her anger in the coop until she tires of hollering and then when she is quiet is when I let her go out. I had mentioned before that I had some mint growing in the garden prior to the chickens arriving. Well the peppermint garden is no longer there they have consumed and continue to consume every sprout that reveals its head. Today I have had to cover the mint patch with wire to keep them off until the mint comes back.

RIR - you are so lucky, I end up checkin for eggs several times a day, lol Sounds like you have such a smart sweet hen. Mine all come running when the see me with the red Folgers can, lol, they know that's the feed can. Sorry about you peppermint, hopefully the wire will protect your mint. I wanted to plant mint but may have to rethink it now, lol. I love that song too.
