they will have bumps-but not full grown spurs:)

I thought I got rid of all my roos but I have a bird that looks like a hen but she sure has what looks like spurs. I am going to have to take a pic for you to see.

I saw this the other day and thought it was perfect!

Oh thank God I thought one of my girls was playing for both teams. Bisexual chicken would be an abomination to my coop.. hehehehhe.. A chicken shall not lay with another chicken as she does with a roo.

Rant away, good grief, you guys have listened to me enough about it!

I think you should stay a night with her too. Send his little butt out to sleep with the dogs! Wait until Saturday night and I will be right there with you!

regarding the question of do girls have spurs..

Agnus one of my girls.. had spurs early on and looked like such a guy. Everyone who saw her said to me "that is a roo", I started believing it. She has the spurs but only a bump they did not continue to develop. Now she is laying like the rest.

Hey everyone! I am still here but don't always post. Been real busy lately.
Weather here has been like the weather where RIR is. 60s and flooding rain. Not literally flooding but seems like it. The sun has been shinning all day and just now went behind a cloud that looks like it is going to drop on us. Just now had to close my windows. It is so weird how it was like 13 for days and now up in the 60s!

I agree with chickenchick. The spots in the eggs have nothing to do with being fertalized or not. I read somewhere that is just something in the chickens body that has not gotten worked out. Is more common in new layers an usually works itself out but some hens are just going to do it if it runs in their gens to do it. It is called a blood spot and just looks gross but is harmless. I have heard others call them meat spots too.

Scare the crap out of him????
