I am so sorry to hear Bailey is not better. Did your friend have any idea what may be wrong?

I don't know what Raymond needs. He gets extra help with his special ed study hall. I check to make sure any hw she can't get done with him done for the next day. She helps him study for tests, as do I. I just don't know. No amount of punishment works either. I am going to email his SE teacher this morning and ask her what she thinks. Summer school? Tutor?

Just kidding! I am jealous and I admit it! This is normal for this time of year. Last years was worse. School was closed for 2 1/2 days and we were literally snowed in. Here are some pics from that storm.

This looks like I dug it out, but it actually drifted that way!

The theory here was to park the pickup away from the house so it wouldn't drift in! Well that didn't work. The snow was up to the doors and we had to get the tractor to pull us out!

This is one of my fav pics of hubby!

Gee, I am not jealous of you at all! I love being able to open my office door in the afternoons and getting out in the yard in the sun! We got the screen door put on last night and hubby was right, Thunder was driving us crazy wanting in and out with everything going on! Colton and Luke were cutting the top off a wrecked vehicle, hubby was working in and out of the garage and we were messing with Bailey. I still don't know what is going on with her. She rattled off a couple of things, but I don't understand it all. This girl mostly drives me crazy, but she knows her goats for sure! She doesn't work or get out much and spends her whole day dedicated to her goats! I love my girls, but come on. So, therefore, she now sits at home and worries over Bailey and calls me numerous times a day just rattling on and on about her and what we should do. She has only called twice so far this morning, but is coming in this afternoon to give me some different food. Now, I feed them exactly what she told me to, but she changed feed this winter and therefore thinks I should have done the same. So, she is going to bring me a bag. I am pretty sure it isn't the food or anything like that since Bella is fine, but whatever. She is worried that Bailey is losing weight. Of course she is, I told her that. It is a new thing, started when she got sick and has been dropping the pounds even though she is still eating. It was one of my concerns to begin with, but I listened to the 20 minute speech and agreed to let her drop it by. Again, Bella is healthy and fine, so it isn't anything like that. It is a balance problem, that is all I know right now.

It is nice that she is trying to help but I can see why it would drive you crazy. I have a "friend" (loosely used term) that thinks because i am the age of her daughter that I know nothing about chickens. She gets all preachy at me and it got old in a quick hurry. We use to email on a daily basis but I got tired of her making me feel like I was 8 everytime i heard from her. So now its about once a month and it always Pi**es me off! The last email I sent was a quick, Hi how are you, we were in the city and stopped at Sams club etc...... What did I get back? A big LONG speech about how everything you buy at SC poisons your body and basically told me I was killing my family

This may sound ridiculous but.... with a child balance problems could mean an ear infection. A thought?

I wondered about that, but anything I mention and she goes on and on about these diseases she thinks it may be and of course, I know nothing about goats, so I wouldn't have a clue like she would. She has been a great help and I appreciate her, but good grief, some of it is just good old common sense. I am wondering about worms. We didn't get them wormed over the winter and it would make sense for the weight loss. I am wondering if it would also make her back end weak and that could be the problem. I am trying to be optimistic and do what I can for her and exploring all possibilities first before giving her an absolute death sentence. I am also trying to prepare myself in case that does happen. She gave me Bailey and is really emotional right now and letting that get the best of her. She needs to pull herself together and focus!!

It is hard to call those people friends, when they talk down so much. I always appreciate suggestions and input, but give them as just that suggestions! Like I said, most of it is just common sense and just because you do something one way, doesn't mean I necessarily have to follow in your lead. And what's it to your "friend" if you want to do in your family?

I know what you mean. I have a "bird friend" that I call when I have troubles. I love her to death but can't get a word in edgewise when she's around. Maybe your goat friend needs a friend. If so at least she has good taste in friends!

Sorry Bella no better..

You are right, charmed, she is lonely and needs a friend. I think she has driven all them away by ding donging them to death. I try to keep her in check. I only answer part of the time when she calls and try to keep her at a minimum. I feel sorry for her in a way, but she just drives me crazy! She just left here after bringing me 2 bags of feeds and a protein block. She also went to the vet and picked up another wormer and an antibiotic. None of which she will let me pay for. I think she is under the impression she has to buy friendship, and maybe that is the way it has been in the past, but it bothers me. I should be grateful for the help she is trying to give me, but she is so intent on the death sentence that she won't look past it for anything else. She may be right, but then again, she may be wrong.

Thanks! I am going to go home and check on her and go from there. I am reading conflicting things when I research it that alternates me having hope and wanting to give up.

How has your day been? It is so beautiful (sorry chickenchick) I am going to get outta here and enjoy!
