That's so neat. Me and all 3 of my kids received our names from a deaf neighbor when we lived down in Florida. I'm not deaf, just hard-of-hearing. One thing I've been doing lately is looking into learning sign language from other countries. Is your Ex-Brother-In_Law also Dutch? Did you know there are 2 sign languages used in the US? One uses: and, the, was, were, etc. and the other leaves em out. Can ya tell I like talking about signing?

Yes he's Dutch also but due to my break up with his brother I lost contact with him. He knows Signs in English, German, French and Dutch, we to have 2 types of SL overhere.

That is sooo cool, hopefully I'll be fluent in multiple languages some day.

My DD knows sign language well. She went to college to learn it.

That's neat Charmed. I started learning when I was 8 from my "Grandma" who was an interpreter for the school system in our city, probably why it was easier for me than for some, then took ASL 1 and 2 in College. My husband can't seem to get it, though he sure does try. We joke around that some day he'll be my ears and I'll be his eyes. Guess it's a good thing I read lips too, lol. All I can tell you San is to keep trying, and the more you practice and use it the better you'll get. My youngest daughter is my interpreter because she picked it up quickly. My son and oldest girl weren't as interested but have picked up a lot more recently. It would really help if you knew someone who was deaf and could teach you, or maybe take a class at university.

Oh lip reading very handy..... I was thinking of following a course once but after the break up I never thought of it again.. and the problems is there are so many things I still want to do and learn...

I irritate my kids by putting captions on too, lol. I totally understand about wanting learn so many things.
Nighty night and sweet dreams San, I need to get off here too cause we're fixin to close the shop. Talk to y'all laters.

So tired...

I'm trying to get as much housework as I can caught up. I've hardly done a lick of it, other than keeping the kitchen & main bath passable, since my husband's diagnosis. With his surgery coming up & another chaotic few weeks, I need as much done as I can. I have today & tomorrow to do as much as I can to catch up, and I really wanted to go and spend a few hours somewhere for "me" tomorrow before I enter back into the craziness. Probably won't get to do much of that, though.

I am concentrating on getting things where they belong, then vacuuming. Dusting is not a priority. Bathrooms will get a scrub tomorrow, perhaps.

The disaster of a master bedroom is caught up. The "spare" room is in shape, too. The hall is done. The main bath is tidy (though not cleaned) as well as the half bath. The dining room didn't have much out of place. Studio room is done, too. (Ahem. OK so that one is cheating. I'm just setting that room up as a studio...so I'm really just relocating things out there as I come across them.)

Whew...progress.

Next: I think a bit in the garage or sunroom. I "must" move some things in the garage...I doubt I'll get to the rooms downstairs, but those are out of sight of anyone who shows up, anyways.

5 hours later. Utterly fatigued and STOPPING for the night. I've lost track of how much laundry I've done. There are a few items in my hamper, but those are things that must be handwashed. I'll deal with those in a decade or two. I've made a bit of progress on both the sunroom and the garage, too. Those are part of tomorrow's chaos reduction project. I also have to change the bedding in the main quail cages tomorrow and do other animal related tasks. I'll be worn out tomorrow, too. Thank goodness for Advil...

I'm off to go loll in bed for a half an our and read my magazine that came today, or maybe watch some tv. Otherwise, I'll look over beside me and do some more cleanup work.
