Tex--He is a Frenchie

Nat--I got him from a lady near Trenton that breeds them. He is 4 years old and his jaw is a little crooked so she can't breed him or show him. He went to the fair last night and is at work today! Going back out to the fair later. I just love him so much already

I wish I could take the credit for Mickey, but I can't. He was actually offered to Tonna, but she decided her Pug was enough, so she referred them to us. Tonna was the one who called hubby and talked to him about it before anything was ever said to Des or I. Des has really always wanted an English Bulldog, but she fell in love as soon as she met this guy! He has so much personality already. He is pretty lazy, but he has his playful moments too. He is crate and potty trained and knows some commands.

Des - love the new dog! You'll be better off in the long run with a Frenchie. They have a lot less health issues than the English Bulldogs.

Nat - Sounds like the Cocker needs some antibiotics and antifungals. What are you bathing him with? Try an antifungal shampoo - head and shoulders, nizoral, or selsun blue.

The little doggie from work last night didn't make it. He died about 2 hours after surgery.

I felt so bad for his owner - a nice little old man and this was his companion. The neighbor's American bulldog jumped his fence and attacked the Chihuahua. Then the lady who owned the bulldog fought with me for 10 minutes b/c she didn't want to pay for a surgery.

Sometimes I hate people.

Aloha everyone!! WoW its been way too long since ive said Hello! ive been just way to busy and chaotic to login in months - goodness since April i think!! well i have been missing you all and hope everyone is well and the chooks are good!!
we moved to kauai from the big island so im not really a bigisland chick anymore, and have moved 2X since we have moved here!

with 14 chickens and 2 kids under 4yrs in tow.

not exactly the plan when we moved over here but

i think we found our spot - rent is fairly cheap

but we have a big yard on a dead end street - about a block from the big blue pacific ocean in the last town as far west as you can go on the island - the only thing past us is SAND, the military base and PoliHale state park - an epic beach that is the western most publicly accessible area in hawaii - sometimes i feel like we are on the edge of the earth out there -

I had to get all new chickens when i got here bc i sold all the others

but the new ones are lovely - although moving with them was not the plan - and now the new coop is taking more time then i would like to build - but its in the works -

I have a pair of black banty cochins and a white banty cochin hen - they are the sweetest of the whole lot - and their little hut - "da banty shanty" is complete except for the run -
the LF birds are split up right now in 4 different breeding pens (that i found buried in grass when we moved here - some years ago there were chickens being raised in my yard - i found a feeder too!) for now until we get the big coop finished - DH has friday off so hopefully

we will make some progress on that - it only has one wall right now - and we will need a roof because they need SHADE! sometimes its like living in the desert over here - just a few miles away is WAIALEALE mountain - one of the wettest spots on earth with 450 inches of rain annually - with a record of 666 inches - and where i live we get 12 inches of rain annually - so its very HOT and DRY. and the hawaiian summer lasts till october - and im not sure it will cool off that much after then anyhow!

so thats my big update!! ill try to be back before November - lol - Aloha for now
