So last night we picked up exactly where we left off and won game #2!!!! 12-6. NOW it's down to the wire and we start right into 3rd and final game. It was a shut out we won!!! 6-0 BUT in the bottom of 6th a girl hit deep into left field and I went running yelling mine! I had it lined up perfectly and out of nowhere our shortfielder ( who didn't yell mine) collided with me. I never even saw her coming because I was so focused. I went down and the sheer pain in my right leg left my screaming! Thought I broke a bone! Everyone came out to check on me and I just yelled-DONT TOUCH ME-PLEASE!! The sweat pouring down my whole body told many I was seriously hurt. 2 Husbands from the other team scooped me up and carried me to our bench. Ice packs and 800 ibuprofen immediately. Thank goodness my team is comprised of nurses and physical therapists Whatever it was "rolled-turned-moved" back into place and the excruciating pain stopped. I was left with a very hurt leg-especially at my knee area. As I sit on the bench adjusting ice packs-the next thing I know the other team was up they hit 1-2-3 we caught each rip-GAME OVER!!!!!! WE WON!!! The other team was great and if we did lose lose they deserved to be #1 as they are an OLE girls team like us and been in the league many years. They all came over to our bench and hugged me to say good game and to see how I was. Even though I'm sitting here -not being able to sleep because of pain-Im still smiling that we won...5 years in a row we've been #1 out of 8 teams..... life is good right now!!!
