Kelly, I had a scare this weekend with Andy -- my big dog. He and bessy took off Saturday and five hours later came back. hot as heck and he drank before i could remove it -- he drank a bunch, and then threw up. I got him inside and put a fan on him. he looked so wobbly and disoriented. I finally felt like he was cooled off and started giving him little bits of water. it took about 3 hours before i felt he was cooled off and back to normal. They ran off before I knew what was happening. bessy came back just as chipper as ever. little s--t.

had another good weekend with my mom. she is sick with a bad cough. while we were in tybee, had to take her to the doctor. ended up we both got shots and a prescription for antibiotics. I am still croupy, but she is worse than me. I told her no questions, head to the doctor in the morning.

Caught the neighbors dogs back by my coop yesterday .. had a little talk with the neighbor. I was nice, but I think he understands what Texas law allows me to do to protect my flock .. we'll see.

Kinda hard to enjoy the cooler temps and the breeze when there are fires breaking out all around me ..

Less than three weeks until we take off for North Carolina .... on the bikes!

Robin so glad you had a nice time with Mom, I sure hope she is good as new soon!

Also thank goodness Andy is ok. I thik I get just as much gray hair from my 4 legged kids as my 2 legged one! Who by the way has been handling his drivers licsense and car with responsibility and care. He was late only once and that was by 2 minutes, it cost him 2 hours the next night so I don't think it will happen again!

Mom just called and the doc says she has walking pneumonia. Poor thing.
