I am officially crazy! I just went looking in the dark and rain to see if my new little hen laid an egg today? Now my pants are all wet. Her name is Daisy and she is a Blue Rock-mix that I got from Eric and Le of The Pampered Pullets Farm and she lays green eggs.

...I just forgot that part....I did have a flashlight.

You know, when you introduce a new hen to the bunch that has been laying that many times they will just lay in the mud until the figure out where the nests are. You better go out and look again. I am sure there is an egg out there.

Yes , the joys of hunting eggs in the dark are numerous. I have grabbed big chicken turds, mice, stray kittens (mama kitty hid them in a chicken nest) all sorts of great things. The stray kittens scared the mess outta me cause all I could envision was a SKUNK.
