Ever sew thru your finger?

Ow! I never did that, but it did remind me of something.
My oldest sister wanted to be a nurse from the time she started talking, and has always been fascinated by things medical. All through our childhood she was always sewing up her own injuries with needle and thread, and trying to talk all of us into letting her do it to us when we got hurt!

We were fairly compliant when she wanted us to play "patient" in other ways, but that was a bit too much! Happily, she did become a nurse when she grew up and finally had real patients to work on!

My Nanna had one of those old roller washing machines at her summer cabin, and got her thumb stuck in a belt loop once as the pants were going through. That was the most appalling hand injury I've ever seen - egads!
