Every flock has got a loner...

I have a couple Polish and it seems that they are loners because they can't see their friends. I have to throw treats down right in front of them or they miss out. They get along with everyone, they just can't see much.

That's so cute! I'd love some of those chickens. They sound pretty swell.

I added two EE's to my mixed flock a couple of months ago. Good thing they were quick. They managed although the brown one seemed to fit in almost right away.....the white one was a different story. All the other chickens are brown or red....and then this white/gray chicken. Nobody liked her and she would run like the wind to get away from them. She did not even roost with them until the last week or so. She would roost above the nest boxes on a 2x4.....just this week I have seen her on the roost and when treats are delivered she dives in, grabs and runs....

She is my loner.

Aw, I guess even the chickens need something to make them feel like they've got to upper hand
