Everyday chick life ???

I have 2 week old Rhode island chicks i bought. . .i have them outside(In Arizona) on the ground with a cage over them with a wood box with straw inside. I was wonderng do they have to have light at night or just usal day and night? and if they do dose it have to be a heat lamp or just some kind of light ??

With our chicks, we got them at two weeks of age, and kept the heat lamp on (you'll need something that gives out heat, especially if they're outdoors) day and night for another week or so, before turning it off at day time. They don't need the heat anymore once they're mostly covered with feathers. You'll want to make sure they're sheltered from the wind if they're outside, though.
