Ok, I Need to know how the whole reproductive system of chickens work. Specifically, Is the sex of a chick determined by the or the rooster? does it work the same with chickens as it does with people? This is for a science fair project im working very hard on!!! please help!

Actually I believe it is not really known 100 percent.

This article may be a bit too complex:

Try searching nature.com. There is a good one there.

The interesting thing is that in turtles and other reptiles, it can be determined by the temperature of incubation! I wonder if that is ever true with chickens?

yup, by the hen. she determines if the chick gets the Y or X chromosome. the roo is already giving the X, because his cromosomes are XX. he can only give the chromosome he has, so he gives the X, the hen just randomly gives either.
