Rice needs to be cooked also. Not much nutritional value in white rice

1 -- Rice doesn't need to be cooked, you can feed it raw.

2 -- As for there not being much nutritional value in white rice, lets compare a couple key factors of white rice to corn and oats.

Rice (White) ---

Digestible Matter (DM)--------------89
Total Digestible Nutrition (TDN)---79
Net Energy Maintenance (NEm)--85
Net Energy Gain (NEg)--------------55
Crude Protein (CP)--------------------8

Corn ---

Digestible Matter (DM)--------------88
Total Digestible Nutrition (TDN)---88
Net Energy Maintenance (NEm)--98
Net Energy Gain (NEg)--------------65
Crude Protein (CP)--------------------8

Oats ---

Digestible Matter (DM)--------------89
Total Digestible Nutrition (TDN)---76
Net Energy Maintenance (NEm)--81
Net Energy Gain (NEg)--------------52
Crude Protein (CP)-------------------13

From these numbers you can see that white rice fall just below corn but still above oats in these key nutritional factors.

I only buy brown rice, black rice or wild rice.... even for myself.. Corn might be starch but something about the endosperm. read and bought the book "Resilent Gardener". Kind of wish I got duck instead. suposedly good nutrition in healthy duck eggs.... Plus lady I met recently said "easier to raise". Another guy at Flea mkt said "geese were" He might have been putting me on. Heck I dont know... I am a city girl till recently... LOL

that one link said peanut or soy..... I would try peanut in a mixture... Heck if my pecan trees were cared for could have used them. But they havent been cared for we only been here for a while. and the good for nuttin squrrels steal the best ones. Kitty kat wont chase them. Wish a neighbor dog would but not bother my chickens... All the dogs do around here is on and on barking.....

You can starve to death, many poor Asians have, eating only white rice. Vitamin A deficiency is rampant in the Asian poor. Even corn has a little yellow to it (I am not claiming one could survive off of it, but it gives you some nutrition)

I mix together 40lb. layer crumble-16%
40lb. meat bird starter-22%
40lb. feather fixer-18%
40lb. scratch grain
20lb. BOSS
5lb. poultry conditioner
5lb. game bird/show bird
5lb. poultry grit
1 weekly can of peas
-kitchen scraps-
thinking about fermenting my mix
