Heading to do it right now. Gosh forbid they choose any number of the safer places I put up!

Had a bittersweet moment today. One of my piggys laid her first egg today, but it rolled off the edge of their nesting ledge...
I hear you I built high and dry nest boxes with nest bowls and perches and I have 2 pairs nesting on the floor. Try not to change the nesting area too much.
Ok. All I did is put up cardboard boarders all around the nesting boards. Epic, who I think is the female, never even moved off the board and Storm, probably male, just paced back and forth on the board, periodically wing slapping me and trying to destroy my offending hands!! When I stepped back, they started rearranging their straw and getting more nesting materials out of the box I have in there filled with different things for them to choose from.
You will now stand an excellent chance of raising at least one squab. Hope the cardboard holds up. It should in a perfect world.
if four eggs are laid total (including the fallen one) then you've got two females probably. If they're a pair they'll lay just two totalOk. infertile females will lay four eggs, fertile will lay two. Good luck!!As long as I don't get 6 eggs! Hoping for at least one male!!!! I just peeked in at everyone, Chaos is on (her) own shelf, Epic and Storm are snuggled on theirs![]()
