Just a chime in from an understanding person. I've had to give BYC a break a few times or just drop some threads I followed for awhile. It is easy to read to much into things and sometimes life is too short and complicated to put up with less than kind people, especially when facing outside challenges. I hope today is a good day for all.
I also hope BYC re-finds it's way into your happy zone. In the meantime, nothing wrong with healthy spaces where ever they are.
Love the breeding interest. Seems a natural progression with chicken keeping if a body has the space, love, $ and patience. I recently picked up a straight run of Brahma's. Dark, Buff and Light roo's along with a refresh of hens. My mixed (Brahma/Ameraucana) hunky hero rooster Spiders chicks did not come out as light as I was hoping on his first hatch and I think I got stuck with a bunch of boys AGAIN. I need to be more selective of my eggs in the future as my new Brahma pullets are just now reaching POL and i'm thinking of turning my heat up a bit. Anybody try that one? I just can't cull and don't want to deal with more roo's. I have a bunch of craigslist adds out for my best of the best roosters but no new takers for awhile. Plus it is hard on the heart.

Turning the heat up in the incubator? Supposed to give you more hens by not hatching the roos at a higher heat. Sorry, my post got a little goofy towards the end.Try one of what.
Pretty birds.
