I have this one cayuga duckling, and she's plain evil. She picks fights with the young roosters and even bullies members of her own flock around. One time my little brother threw some bread to them and this other little black duck I've gotten had it, but he dropped and she grabbed it and quickly ran off, even though they've been raised together since I got them from the same brooder (along with 2 White Chinese Geese who waddle around with them)! She'll bite you if you grab her and she screams like crazy.

Doesn't sound evil just assertive.

I have 3 close to 6 weeks old now and one of the females is starting to be assertive, if she is in the lil pool she won't let one of the others get in and yesterday I saw her with the tails feathers of one of my 13 weeks old blk,. Australorps in her bill with the chicken still attached. I wouldn't worry too much she'll be okay. Now biting and screaming is very typical of being scared, .Ducks really aren't too keen on being grabbed and picked up since they are prey. Best to just enjoy them on the ground in a quiet atmosphere with some yummy treats.

I agree with ML. Ducks will establish a pecking order among themselves and the other animals around them. Its just the way it is.
