I just thought of something evil.

I should throw the Cockatoo, and the Chicken in the shower, see which gets the maddest......

The wet hen might lose it's cliche status, this boy can scream now :D

Shall I video it or not :::evil grin::

The cockatoo HATES standing water, he hates showers too will scream like I threw lava on him, yet run round and round through the stream over and over again so you figure that one out. Likes sprayed and the one time he peed me off so bad I turned the garden hose on him outside, he absolutely LOVED IT, so how is that not a shower? Now if I hand wash him he likes that too but we won't get into that episode.

Bucket of deep fryer oil, loose cockatoo, leave the room for 5 seconds, he decides to land on side to look in, plop, then flaps through it. I make the mistake of grabbing a towel and chasing him with the towel, THAT was pristine play time in his bird brain. Oh I was mad, had to shampoo the carpet and everything because of that brat.

He did that??

Yes he did. It was cold oil. I was cleaning the deep fryers and poured them into a big tupperware square like 6 qt or so bowl that was on the ground. Walked back to the garage to put the fryer back in the garage, and him on the cage, flapped down, laded on the side of the bowl, wobbled face first into the oil, flapped his wings, walked through it. Me seeing it, cursed him, came after him with a towel because he is soaked with cooking oil dripping all over the place, well THAT was play time for him, so he literally ran across the kitchen and into the living room dripping oil, and tried to climb up the couch at which point I threw a pillow at him, knocked him then got the towel around him, who is now screaming. Threw him into the shower and was like, ok so now how the hell do I fix this? Eventually called his Vet and told her what he did and she laughed and said just get some dawn dish soap, warm water in the shower and just like they do with birds in oil slicks, sponge bathe him until clean, which may take a few tries, days to get all of the oil off him. He was fighting at first, trying to climb up my leg, then eventually gave in and let me bathe him trying to wash the crap off w/o trying to bite or put up too much of a fuss during it. Im sure me yelling at him the whole time in my 'angry at you voice' he got the idea he did bad.

WHAT possessed him to want to go see what was in the oil bucket, I have NO idea, generally when he is interested in what I am cooking he'll warble, stand upside down hanging on his cage and flap his wings making a big fuss for attention until he gets a piece of whatever it was I just tasted. He makes like a wiggy wiggy wiggy sound, and can get VERY annoying when he don't shut up :p He'll squawk too. In this case he was just standing on top like he always does. Maybe something scared him and he spontaneously flew off and that is where he landed, I honestly don't know. Usually when he's being mischievous he'll be perked up like he's proud of what he just done, but not that time, so don't even think it was intentional. I was so worried he might have inhaled some of it but fortunately all worked out in the end.
