ewwwwwww!! grossest egg evar!! (egg inside an egg!)

That is pretty neat. I sure hope I never sell one of those eggs or I will lose some customers.

How come I never come across those in store bought eggs?It is not like you can *see* the bad insides and toss before sale. Some people are already freaky over backyard fresh eggs, add fertilized, add blood spots, and now this.

They do use electronic scanners to look for meat spots and other defects. If you look at an egg through a bright light you can see into it a little.

I got one once that was a double yolk soft-shell egg inside of another egg! Must've hurt to plunk that one out. Still don't know who the culprit was.

My EE Lucy laid a couple like that and was never the same. She had problems laying after that and we had to cull her @ about 18 m/o

I really loved that birdie.

Sometimes as the hen is forming an egg it gets stuck and a second egg forms around it. If candled you could not see through the internal egg. Meat spots are actually pieces of the hens internal tissue sloughing into the egg as it forms. The last part of an egg to form is the shell, it developes around the white which is around the yolk, then it gets its color.
