Hello BYC family!! i have a 4 month old red comet chicken and she has an excessively full crop. i have done some research and there is sooooo much information out there! i don't know exactly what to do! she is acting completely normal, eating, drinking, getting excited for treats, etc. but she has this huge crop. i am worried and want to help her. if i have to feed her a special diet, do i need to keep her away from the other chicks??

i would appreciate any and all assistance!! thank you!!

Monitor...after she hasn't eaten for awhile (like in the a.m. after a night of not eating, see if it is still enlarged. Could be she just gorged on her food. If it is still large it may be something like impacted crop. No need to panic yet!

her crop was pretty full last night so i just assumed she had gorged on food, like you said! but i checked her this morning and it was still full. it's soft and moveable so i put her by herself and i'm giving her water with ACV and applesauce with some mineral oil. she's eating normal, so i am happy about that. thanks for the reassurance!
