Welcome to BYC, Kern. Glad you decided to join our flock. You and your family sounds a lot like me and my family. My grandparents raised my in the early years of my life, and even afterward, I spent all summer and every holiday with them. I have been retired for 6 years now and my wife and I have been married almost 40 years. Raising chickens is a great experience for children (like granddaughters). ) My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) loves chickens and helps me take care of ours. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. What kind of chicks do you have?

I bought two Welsummers, two Black Copper Marans, one Olive Egger, one Easter Egger, One Road Island Red, One Black Astrolop, two Cream Legbars, and two Swedish Flower Hens, all pullets. They are all so cute and happy. Kern

That's a nice mix of breeds. You're going to have a very colorful egg basket with all those breeds. )
