Hi y’all !!!
I’m so excited to be a part of this group. I’m looking forward to everything this page has to offer including connections to other chicken lovers.

Let me start off by introducing myself. I have recently moved to Wisconsin from North Carolina. I had six chickens in NC all of which were americanas. Needless to say I had to find them a home to make this move. That was very difficult cuz I had my girls for about a year and got close to them But life happens and now I’m ready to start back up.
My favorite reasons why I like raising backyard chickens is the thought of fresh eggs, enjoyable pets and enjoying God’s creations.
Other than chickens, I love making things out of pallets. I love building, the outdoors, dogs and horses.
I have two girls, both adults (one lives near me in WI, the other inTX),and my oldest is expecting a boy (my first grandson)due next week.
I’ve always have enjoyed reading the forums in BYC since I first owned chickens. Now I’m just taking it a step further.
Looking forward to sharing my ideas and getting new ones.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock! :welcome BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for members on the BYC roost!:highfive: I bet you receive colorful eggs from those ameraucanas!

Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!

Hello and :welcome! I am glad your move is now completed safely and you can relax! Never mind no relaxing, congrats on the first grand baby coming so so soon! You came to the right place to have a chicken community standing behind you! You can find the Wisconsin thread under forums and the tab “Where am I? Where are you!” And you can connect with other chicken owners near by. Anyone can answer questions though so check out the forums for fun to know stuff! We’re glad to have you!

Thank you so much....
I did have colorful eggs. Lots of soft blues and greens. Made for a beautiful basket of eggs.
I definitely want more of them. Looking to get between 6 and 8 girls when they become available.
Do you have a favorite breed?

Oh that’s a hard question!!! I use to keep chickens but now I currently only keep ducks. I would love to keep both someday but from my chicken expiernce, personalities were all pretty much the same so I go by looks! Silkie’s and Brahma’s of course, they’re so funny! Orpington because I love the golden color and Wyandotte’s because of the cool patterns on them! There’s so many more breeds that I think are just truly stunning. Do you know which breed or breeds you want to start your flock up with?
