Excited to be a part of BYC

Welcome to BYC! We are just as glad to have you as you are to be here. Making a move like that and having to liquidate your flock can be very difficult, I did the same thing about 2 years ago when we moved from Indiana to Oregon. The good news is you're getting ready to start over again and that makes it all worth it.
Dust off a spot on the roost and make yourself at home

Oh that’s a hard question!!! I use to keep chickens but now I currently only keep ducks. I would love to keep both someday but from my chicken expiernce, personalities were all pretty much the same so I go by looks! Silkie’s and Brahma’s of course, they’re so funny! Orpington because I love the golden color and Wyandotte’s because of the cool patterns on them! There’s so many more breeds that I think are just truly stunning. Do you know which breed or breeds you want to start your flock up with?
Omg. Lots of favorites. I want to try some Wyandottes for sure. Too many to choose from

Welcome to BYC!
Yes, there's just too many breeds to choose from, and I think I have favorites that I've never even owned yet.... but will someday!! Especially the blue or chocolate egg layers! For now, I'm sticking to what's available from my local farm stores, they're just as pretty to me. I love the puffy cheeks and beards of the Easter Eggers, and I also love the super fluffy feathers of my Blue Wyandotte. I raised my last batch of chicks inside my coop with a heating pad! It's an especially great way to integrate little ones early!
