Excited to be adding some Barred Rocks soon

I've ordered 5 chicks. I know it's not much. I had 5 Golden Comets, and have lost 3 in the last two years to illness. My last two made it through the winter so I've decided to add to the flock, and barred rocks were highly recommended to me by several people. I'll be getting them in May.

Eventually I'll add them to the coop with the two older hens (I hope). They are about 4 years old now. I'm hoping that they can integrate when the time comes!!!

I am picking up 5 barred rock pullets on Tuesday from Cackle, along with 5 Austra white pullets, and 50 meaties. I have 25 two-week old barnyard mixes in 1 brooder now. I love all chickies! I started out with Barred rocks and I loved them! They were great hens.

I love our barred rock baby! She is super funny and curious and always the first to investigate things! Im slightly worried she is a he though in which case Ill cry cause she is my favorite!

I can tell you that my two barred rock and my white rock are by far the friendliest of my 9 hens. They are also very reliable layers. Mine will be two this spring.
