Excited to get my own chicken

HI, my name is is Udo. I am 60 yo, live in North Hollywood, CA. in a nice quiet neighbourhood. I am planning to give a loving home to 4 chicken in our back yard. Chicken coop already built, everything is ( I think ) ready. Now I am just trying to get as much info as I can from in order to make sure I'll do everything right and also trying to find out where I can find the breeds I have in mind.

I really hate to burst your bubble but you are in a vND quarantine zone. Moving chickens in the zone or out of the zone is prohibited.

Please, as a potential new flock owner, stay apprised of anything to do with your potential flock in the future.
Once the quarantine is lifted you will then be okay to get your flock. There is a map on that website that shows the borders of the quarantine area and I believe your in Los Angeles county.
