I'm brand new to raising chicks. It's not been the greatest experience so far. I picked my 4 baby chicks in May, 2023. Within 6 hours my Buff Orpington passed away. I had an Americana, Bardrock and Salmon Favorelle left. I decided to purchase 2 more Buff Orpingtons. The Americana turned out to be a rooster. I didn't Want a rooster but decided to see how it went. Recently my Salmon Favorelle's face was mutilated and she passed away. Then one of my Buff Orpingtons neck was raw and bloody. I isolated her. I'm out at their run 3 to 4 times daily and have a camera inside and outside of their house. I don't know when this happened but I witnessed the rooster grabbing my Bardrock by the neck and now he has a new home! So now I only have 3 hens.
I really enjoy all my animals. I have 2 cats and a Sheltie (dog). And now I'm a chicken mom. I love animals! I wish I could have a donkey but no room.
I enjoy woodworking. Especially with my husband. I also enjoy crocheting, reading my bible or bible commentaries and church.
