The Moonshiner's Leghorns

If you were closer, I'd take some of those turkey thighs off your hands to help you make more room in your deep freezer. ;)
:frow I'll do you one better, I'll take a whole turkey! Maybe two. What kind of distances are we talkin' here?

I'm in MO, and if they were in SW KY I just might do it, but SE KY is a bit of a jaunt, lol.

It's kinda like that time he wanted to make money over the summer mowing grass, so I got stuck buying him a $400 mower so he could mow my neighbor's grass for $10.
:lau

As far as metal detectors I have no idea and no clue about them.
I may have him a side hustle with it though. Like just last week my mother text me and wanted to know if I had one or knew anybody that did. She had lost her car key she believed between the car and the front porch. Yeah in the grass. Her and my brother looked for like an hour and then I guess my brother racked around the grass for a bit too with no luck.
She said last time she lost her key that cost her almost $300 for a new one. I lost my truck key once but it wasn't as fancy of a key. Had to have someone come to the house. I think I spent $200 for two keys and to have them programmed.
Maybe he could make some cash finding lost keys or wedding rings and such.

He better go get it. Deep freezers are going to go fast now whenever they become available.
Oh, I hadn't thought of deer season. I might put off my search for a couple months. I bet they do go faster than ever and people will probably value them more for a bit.

Yeah I don't want to defrost one manually. We are definitely going to get a stand-up freezer, not sure if we will go the used or cheap route yet. I have a chest style one now and it is horrendous to dig through but its a good one that doesn't have to be defrosted or anything.
When I first moved here the house came with a large stand up one that had to be defrosted. Every now and again I'd let the food run out then drag it out the door onto the concrete and let it set for a few days then drag it back in and wait for the next time. Yeah never again.

Oh, I hadn't thought of deer season.
Yeah that got me too. We were just looking for one but it can wait. Of course if I had a deer to put in it that would be different but I want it for chickens and I am not ready to butcher anything yet anyway.
