My name is Tricia and my family is new to the chicken community. I have several friends who raise chickens and my husband and I wanted to begin earlier but lived in city limits until we moved last October. Now we have the land and welcomed our first chicks a few days ago. We started off with 4 and had one pass away so we went to get a replacement and this little thing called “chicken math” hit us and we came home with four more. LOL I am not 100% sure what breeds we have I believe they are Isa Brown Buff Orpington and one Rhode Island Red. I guess we will see when they grow older.
We love being outside and enjoy camping, fishing, walking on the local trails and just enjoy hanging with our family and friends rather by the pool or firepit.
My husband and I have three kids. Our son is out on his own and our oldest daughter is in college and our youngest daughter in in high school. My husband owns his own local business and is a coach for two sports at our local high school. I work at our local university. We have two dogs and one cat and love animals so here we are with our baby chicks and are excited to watch them grow.
I found this group on the internet and started reading and thought we could benefit from the members about raising our chicks and learn more from you all.
