Exciting!!!!

I know its early on, but I made a home made candler, and tested it out....Day 6, and I can see the peep developing the veins, and floating on top in 5 of 6 eggs one of my broodys, lil mama, is mothering

...The 3 eggs under broody number 1, we call her Chloe, I think they chilled and died, as they look clear inside, maybe they werent fertile, or too old or whatever, I may get some more eggs for her, just to see if she will continue, as she DOES want to set, but is skittish, and gets up to see about any noise she hears...frustrating...

I am very excited though, that 5 of 6 for sure are lookin good!!! Now watch, they will all be roos...One question, the one egg that is questionable, a few days ago I noticed it was sticky, and I thought maybe it was from the mama, and then it was fine, and then it was sticky again. It is so dark inside the shell, I cant make heads or tails of what is in there...doesnt look like the others. Dont know if that is because the shell is so thick, or is there something rotten inside??? What should I do with it??

Congrats on the developing eggs! How do you get the eggs to candle? My broody growls and pecks at me whenever I get close.

I guess I am just lucky!! She is a very friendly chicken, and I think she knows I wont hurt her. I truly think she is just happy to be setting on some eggs....I pet her every night and tell her what a good mama she is...I would say, just keep trying...My other one that is setting on 3 eggs, she pecks and squawks sometimes too, then she gets up, so I just take them quick....
