Well, maybe not. But these Marans/Rock crosses are very nice layers. Reports back from those having them old enough to lay are that they start fairly early, and the eggs are nice and dark. Good foragers, just nice birds. Colors have been blue or black, mostly with feathered legs. I can send these for a month or so, until it gets too hot. Right now they are laying great.
