I used to snip dew claws myself and I discovered that the theory on newborn to 7 days having no pain was a complete myth . My day olds would scream their little lungs out for a second or two . I wasn't having problems with torn dew claws due to brush tears in my natural adults and could not justify causing the pups pain just for the smooth cosmetic value .
