This morning I heard my chickens squacking in pain and ran out there. She had a huge gash on her shoulders/neck, and the skin was ripped off. The gash went down to the bone- you could see the tissues around then and the cord going down her neck. It looked awful 
We took her to the vet and he's putting her under anesthesia to work on her. He said she should be alright, but it's is kinda risky putting chickens under anesthesia. Has anybody had this done to chickens before? What was the outcome? BTW we did do it, so there's no changing it now. We hopefully will pick her up in a few hours
