Hello BYC peeps! Been keeping chickens since 2010 and peking ducks since 2013. To start we have 6 egg layinh birds in a "gardencoop" and 2 banty chickens for pets that we keep in a "catawba" chicken ark that my sons and I built last year 2013. May of 2014, we just got 15 red ranger broilers, 5 blue cochins, and 3 golden polish chicks (for my wife)! Within the last few weeks, ive built a broiler hoop house tractor for our meet birds and just today started building a treadle feeder. We use our chicken in our garden to turn the dirt and had planned to raise ducks for meat but the drake keeps raping every hen in sight whether its duck or chicken sooooo, tomorrow he becomes out first meat duck.
