So, I was curious in general and hatched out 8 of my red star eggs. Yes, chicks resulting from a combination of red star hens and a red star rooster.
Does anyone have experience with this combination? 6 or the chicks are basic, run-of-the-mill yellow chickens, one is a light buff orange, and the other is orange with dark stripes down its back and dark lines under its eyes.
Will these just be weird mish-mashes of the originals (parents of my birds), or will they be those original varieties? I think I can guess the answer to that just re-reading it, but I'm curious regardless .
