I said layer by 20 weeks.

I did.

feed them a 20% starter (and nothing else) till they are 10 weeks old, go to an 18% layer (and nothing else) and switch to a 16/17% layer (and nothing else) by 20 weeks

The "switch to" is what is confusing.

Maybe the parenthesis was what confused.

Without the parenthetic statement it reads like this.
"and switch to a 16/17% layer by 20 weeks "

I don't know how that could be construed as "Layer feed at 10 weeks?"

It was the 2 different percentages of layer feed listed, with the 'switch to' between them that is confusing.
