The partridge rock is the closest thing My Pet Chicken has to these chicks.

All of the brown layers that are brown as chicks have markings. So maybe it's just their stock that has less markings than the heritage?

For the dark ones, my vote is for Partridge Rocks. The yellow one shouldn't be a White Leghorn if it was ordered as an Assorted Brown Egg-Layer. White Leghorns lay white eggs. So, I'm thinking White Rock, Buff Orpington, or Red Star/Golden Buff. I also received some chicks from MPC. Two of them were White Leghorns and 1 was an Assorted Brown Egg-Layer. The White Leghorns were a very pale yellow, and the Assorted Brown Egg-Layer had a pale yellow neck and chest area, but it was more light amber on its back and head. After watching it grow (now a month old), and sending a picture of it to MPC, I now know it's a Red Star/Golden Buff. I'll see if I can find a pic of my Red Star/Golden Buff as a new chick, and post it. Then you can compare for yourself.

Ok, I found some pics of my chicks from MPC when they were about 3 days old. I stand corrected; I had 3 white leghorns (not 2 as I previously posted). Unfortunately, two of my white leghorns died a few days after these pictures were taken; they either got too hot or maybe they weren't eating enough - I'll never know. Anyway, the first pic shows two white leghorns on the ends, my "assorted brown egg-layer" second from the left, and the darkest one is a Partridge Cochin.


The second picture is the "Assorted Brown Egg-Layer" (now known to be a Red Star/Golden Buff).



This last picture shows all the fluffy butts scampering around on my daughter.
