I have two incubators going right now. One had a bad egg in it that I removed early in incubation. Had a lingering smell, but thought it was from the egg I removed. So both sets of eggs go into lockdown and an egg explodes in the other incubator. Do I leave it until others hatch? Will this kill the chicks waiting to hatch? Should I attempt to transfer the eggs to the other incubator? They are both finishing day 19, starting day 20. Thanks for the help.

Have any in the incubators pipped? If not moving them really quick from one incubator to the other won't hurt, just keep them in the same position. I have opened my incubators during lockdown all the time, even though you're not 'supposed' to, and I haven't lost a chick yet because of it. Even if you do have a pip, being really quick about it should be fine.

No, none have pipped. Maybe I will do a quick swap. I can't imagine that the rotten egg would be gold for the chicks. Thanks.
