'Express' mail now taking two days--worried

My post office calls at 7:30 am. No matter the time the truck comes in? My new plan is to be there at 4:30 am when the truck normally comes in and ask for my chicks! Not a big deal for the chicks as they have been fine, however I work an hour away and leave at 5! Easy to be late another thing to leave mid day!
The post office people were very insistent that it was a big waste of time that I visited them on Friday to let them know they were coming, so despite the internet and Meyer suggestions to do so I sure won’t do that again.
I am sure you’re getting your chicks any minute so enjoy!!

Well crap---now the tracking says that they were in FAYETTEVILLE at 10:53. WTH?? Wrong way, guys. I did talk to the postmaster and they put a note in the sorting room and Billy, the guy back there, is always great about calling me when I've gotten my older birds.

This is an epic mess, IMO. I'm worried I'm going have have DOAs. I swear I'm getting more grays over here. :fl

Many parts of f the country receive chicks in 3 days, not two. The chicks live on the yolk for 72 hours. You won’t have any issues.

Fingers crossed they will be perfectly OK. It's my understanding, too, that the yolk gives them enough nutrients for 72 hours. And you have a large number of chicks coming so between that and the time of the year they shouldn't get chilled. If you have Nutri-drench you may want to add a bit to the water you will be introducing them to. Good luck!!!

Tra la la--they're here and they all seem fine!! Thanks for the reassurance, folks. here are a couple of pix--they're drinking and eating well and several have found mhp. I'm in love!
