The birds I've recieved through the mail have all arrived in good shape. For where I live, it takes 2 days, sometimes 3, because of the way the postal system has mail delivery set up in the state of Oklahoma.
The birds have either newspaper, straw, shavings, or hay as a substrate. Slices of apples are included, though I did have one that got sent with a piece of melon that had been tied with fishing string to hang inside the box.
