Scbatz, no we are actually very mean. We can't help it. We want so much to be nice, polite and hospitable like midwesterners and southern people, but we're afraid of getting ripped off or taken advantage of by other mean northeasterners. A horrible never-ending cycle of meanness... (sobbing into my tissue box now...)
(Actually, Scbatz, I sure hope you find some nice folk up here to be your friends. I bet you can teach them a lot about hospitality and niceness.)
My sister used to teach in Baltimore City Schools. She had to attend a meeting where the speaker was talking about ways to help the school system "succeed". However, he kept saying "susseed". She said she had to stifle a laugh every time he said "Now if we're gonna susseed, we need to......". She said she kept wondering if the city schools "secede" where would they go and who exactly was the enemy?

Oh I know. The folks I have actually talked to are quite nice. They all comment on how mean everyone is which is why I find it ironic. The only "mean" or rude folks I have encountered are actually on the road and usually from Connecticut!!! LOL!! Maybe it's cause I still have my NC plates or maybe it's cause I insist on doing a pesky little thing the government calls the "speed limit". You know those signs aren't merely suggestions, right?
