Extended shipping time--I'm concerned

Update: Ducklings and goslings arrived this am. There was one dead duckling but the rest look pretty good. They were packed in the same box, but a divider separated the ducklings and goslings. They were thirsty and ravenously hungry, I fed them two scrambled eggs, that was a great idea. There's no way they could have lasted until Friday!

Now, the ducklings are trying to eat shavings. I have an appropriate crumble in front of them, but some of them are aggressively trying to eat the shavings. I quickly spread some paper down--I know it says not to do that but hopefully a day or so should be ok while these guys figure out that the crumble is food.

Sorry for your loss, next time don't order gosling's with the ducklings, they are too big and will stomp on them during shipment, I made the same mistake a few years ago. It'd be better to use a towel instead of paper, as it can lead to splayed legs because it's so slippery. We'd love to see some pictures!

@MasterOfClucker got the bedding changed out for towels and everyone seems to be eating the crumbles now. Thanks for your advice, it is appreciated!

Actually Metzer had done a good job with packaging--it was one box but there was a divider so the geese were separated. I don't know why the one died, but I can imagine it was a stressful journey with a lot of temperature changes.

Here's a pic of them at nap time.

Any idea how I can tell the geese apart? Two of them are Africans, three are French Toulouse, but they look extremely similar.

Great!

They did a better job then Ideal Poultry, everybody was cram-packed in there and I ended up losing four out of five chicks most likely due to the geese stomping on them. Ah yes, Africans have a more round head, Toulouse's heads are more like a squared box, I can give you some pictures for reference tomorrow.

@Isaac 0 , I'm still trying to figure out which of the two geese are the Africans, and which are the Toulouse. When you say a more round head, do you mean looking from the side? If I post pictures, what is the best angle for identification purposes?

I'm really enjoying all of the little guys.
