Day 21 today! We received shipped silky super saddled eggs…… most after we received them seriously saddled n when candled at 10 days were dead. We ordered 22 and at lock down had only two…. ; / we have two others inside we picked from our flock one which has pip other does not. But this one here in the picture just made it’s pip but it’s totally wrong end and I am worried…… anyone with advise please take a look. The air cell is not even close but it did externally pip! How is this chick positioned and what should I be looking out for! The other silky has no pip yet….. we would really love to even get one of these babies….

most likely it will be fine. But it may take longer to hatch since it didn't internally pip then externally pip so this pip is like both in one. So it will most likely still need to absorb the yolk and veins before it starts to zip so it can take quite a while. The good thing is it has externally pipped so has air getting in. It is normal for shipped eggs to be saddled and really saddled with being bounced around in the mail. Good luck with the chicks hatching.

How long Are you thinking we should wait since that happened …. We also have another one that has no pip….. yest turned day 21 half way through the day it’s been roughly 24hrs since this one did external pip…. It’s cheeping tho ! The other one isn’t making any noise…. Should I check the other one? I was thinking I’d wait this one out another 6 hrs and see if it comes on its own ….. and maybe check the other one than after this one hatches …?

Their air sac are so bad…. Like I said before we got them shipped 22 of them and only these two made it to lock down.

Think I have heard 36-48 hrs since it is a combined internal/external pip. If it is cheeping it is still fine.

I hatched quite a few shipped eggs and many had severely saddled sacs and they hatched fine. A few pics of mine when I candled.

Oh that gives me a lot of hope! I have hatched shipped eggs before but these out of 22 only 2! That’s just horrible hatch rate…. And that’s if these yo make it …

Some the air sac looked like it took up 3/4 of the egg. I was so worried.. in those 2 batches I has 10/12 hatch (2 never even started), and 16/22 (4 never started, the 2 late quitters I think it was).

I have had 2 sets of shipped eggs that none hatched.... But only one started out of those 2 sets. It stinks!!!

Totally air sac taking up so much of the egg….. I’m just sitting here patiently that one still hasn’t made any progress but I know it’s alive bc it’s breathing n cheeping every once n while……. The other one no external peep and it’s been atleast 12 hrs since internal one I heard it cheep I picked it up out of the incubator super fast and put it to my ear….. n put it back in so it’s alive just waiting for it to do it’s external. Do you know how long they can live in the egg with out externally peeping?

Sorry I missed this...

Have they hatched yet? You can try to do a safety hole and help the other one a bit if they haven't hatched
