It was shaking and I heard tapping noises. I thought I heard chirping but I could be wrong. The hole isn't any bigger. I think it will take longer because it is early and might need to finish absorbing the yolk. Membrane is still white, is that a bad sign? Anyway, this is what I have heard: they are usually fine as long as they can breathe and there is correct humidity, ventilation and temp. Is this true? I am so sorry for all the questions, and I know this is unimportant compared to chicks and chooks that actually NEED help, but I am full of anxiety. Also, sorry if you are asleep when I send this because I'm Aussie.

The chick may be just taking a break, they do that sometimes during a hatch, and start back later trying to get out. Good luck with your hatch...

Thank you for your reply . The egg has moved position and has cracked a tiny bit more. I am going to bed now, and will hopefully wake up to chirping!

THE CHICK IS HERE!!! We watched the whole zipping and hatching and it took 20 minutes! Here is a picture of the little guy, seconds after hatching. Is it healthy? Is that the yolk sac?

Congrats! Just pull that off, its embryo feces. (Egg goop) it's just the wastes from the chick from the last 21 days. So cute!
