    hi,
I've had 4 silkie eggs in the incubator since the 6th. Today, without thinking, I added 3 layer eggs to it. About 6 hours later, I think about lockdown. Will it hurt the layer eggs to be on lock down for 2 extra days?

    No.
The critical time for turning will be over. As long as the eggs have lost sufficient weight, the extra humidity shouldn't hurt them.

Yeah they are numbered, weighed, and marked for turning. Just the 2 day difference I was worried about.

The only time that will be a problem is if you have to open the incubator to take chicks out when the others may be pipping.

I have done it in the past and had no problems.

My incubator is a little one, only holds 7 eggs. I have a big bowl setting over it. I'm hoping to be able to just lift the side of the bowl to get babies, without disturbing the others too much.

When I take out chicks, after I get the chicks out, I mist the remaining eggs with warm water. Brings the humidity up quickly.
