"Extraordinary Chickens" - great book!

I just found this at the library and I haven't read it in depth yet, but it has AMAZING pics! The parts I read did seem quite informative about the different breeds history and such.
I may need to find a copy for to keep..

Why are the chickens extraordinary? How old is the book? Sounds interesting.

Tractor Supply sells it too, but they want a ba-zillion dollars for it.
