Extreme heat issues

Also know that you don't just want shade, you want the deepest darkest shade you can provide. I personally don't put ice in their water, I just make sure they have plenty of water and when it's really bad I put hydrohen in one waterer (and have any other sources be plain). The more ventilation you have the better, in very hot climates I'd go for 3 sqft of ventilation per bird in the coop. I also like to place foot baths near the water, best case scenario is they stand in it while drinking from the waterer and get their feet cooled, worst case scenario they just drink from the foot bath and still get hydrated. I would advise against bringing birds inside unless they are severely overheated as they will acclimate over time (of course use your best judgment here)
