Extreme wry neck

:hugsNo, you haven't killed her.

Just stop giving all the excess Selenium.

She needs Vitamin E and B-Complex. Egg is fine to give for the Selenium. Her feed should already have some in it too.

Sometimes, depending on the Cause of Wry Neck, a bird may still not make it even if you offer supportive care.

Silkies are quite prone to this symptom called Wry Neck - some common causes are Marek's (which Silkies seem to be prone to as well), head/neck trauma (again Silkies are prone to this too - they have a hole in their skull), sometimes nutritional/vitamin deficiency and there's other diseases/conditions too.

Stress of moving to a new home can bring about symptoms too.

Do the best you can. Give her the egg to eat or slurry of chick starter or all flock feed. Keep her hydrated and get the vitamins into her. If you wish, you can give the Vitamin E twice a day for a couple of days just to help jump start it.
I had just moved three to their big coop and then this happened so kaybe it was stress 😵‍💫

Could be.

I hope she begins to improve. Keep us posted on how she's getting along.
Fed her an egg thru syringe this morning with some water until I could get the vitamins after work, when I got back she’s even worse and won’t open her eyes much and is not trying to even swallow like this morning, she is unable to control her body at all and goes to flopping violently when unwrapped from the towel, she’s only content when wrapped up fully with a towel roll to support her neck, I did however get the vitamins mixed with water into her and hopefully that will help her, I feel awful thinking she’s in pain but don’t have the heart to put her down 😢. Really hoping these vitamins help her, how long should it take to show any improvement because so far I’ve only seen a rapid decline from eating on Saturday to this…

Im sorry I don’t know anything about these types of injuries, I would help if I could, I’ll do some research!! I hope she survives

I just saw this message, I know it may hurt but I thinks it’s the best thing to do, the choice is obviously up to you though!

She’s hardly even opening her eyes now, I want so badly to save her but I don’t know what else I’m able to do, has anyone seen it get this bad before?

If you really don’t want to lose her that would be your best bet, I know how attached you can get to silkies and chickens of all breeds! Whatever you choose, I hope y’all are okay

We have a chick with wry neck - they can get better - it can take some time though. She may not be responsive because she is dehydrated- it is very difficult for them to eat and drink on their own in this state- try giving her small amounts of water with a dropper or syringe but be careful to give it to her slowly so she does not inhale water. Gently pry open her beak - she will most likely object but she will feel much better with some liquid in her. You can wrap her in a towel and prop her against the side of a box to keep her up right - she most likely will have one side she is more stable being positioned- you can also give her some bread soaked in milk - to help rehydrate her. You may start to see improvement in a day or two but full recovery can take weeks to months. Some recommend Vit E and B supplements and selenium as this condition is sometimes a nutritional deficiency. One she is hydrated she will start eating on her own - our chick likes scratch with meal worms - you will still need to monitor her liquid intake - we give ours cucumbers to encourage hydration.
Good luck!
