EXTREMELY odd question.

Is it possible, (get ready cause this is odd)


for a cat and rabbit to breed? Let alone have cat/rabbit BABIES?

My aunt (who would never lie to us) has a friend who had cats and

a rabbit, and SOMHOW, they breed, and they have babies, the back

side of the babies apparently looks like a rabbit, and front side looks

like a cat. I've never seen them, but like I said, my aunt wouldn't lie to

us, and she's told us all this. Anyways, it just seemed odd to me.

Yep..they're called Rats or Cabbits...<<( depending on if the father was a cat or a rabbit...)

Sounds like Manx cats. They are a "tail-less" breed and their hind legs can be long or look longer. They are 100% cat, the appearance is due to a genetic mutation that shortens the spine. Tail is part of the spine, so what it does is shorten the spine to generally around the base of tail or hip area.

The myth of cat x bunny cross is a very common/old one. Also have heard the one about Noah closing the Ark's door on a cat's tail. I don't know why some people will swear up and down to hold a myth or falsehood as being completely true...

This is impossible. Your aunt may be retelling the story as she remembers hearing it, but perhaps somewhere in the friend-to-aunt-to-you process some facts have been lost. Cats & rabbits are from completely different animal families, there's no way they could produce any live offspring.

And think about it, even hybrid animals aren't divided neatly in half, looking on one end to be one type, another on the other end.

There are some breeds of cat that have no tails, or very stumpy ones, and their back ends may LOOK like a rabbit, but they're still 100% cat.

That's kind of what was going through my mind...But I kind of

would be heart broken if she lied to me, Just by the fact SHE LIED.

She made it sound so serious...Maybe the friend lied? Maybe....
